A straight forward read that gave us the basic information on Georgian cookery that we were looking for. A neat and compact book.

2.0 out of 5 stars Too General, Too Small, Too Expensive 16 Sep 2008
By Kimberly Costa - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
Written for the tourist to pick up at a gift store whilst visiting a NH site this may be a nice thing to bring home, but anyone into true food history then let this one pass. There are NO period recipes as they are all modern but they give credit to the original authors which makes no sense. As for the general information in the back chapters there isn't anything in here that you can't find elsewhere or wouldn't already know. Very general information with a few mistakes given that is was written in the 80's. The only really good thing about this overpriced little thing is that with the current exchange rate this book should cost you $16 not the $12 you are charged.
5.0 out of 5 stars What to give a cook for a gift 19 Mar 2011
By Kevin B. Haas - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
I was looking for a gift to give my mom who loves cookbooks..the cookbook has recipes from this time period but thankfully adapted to ingredients we have available, so I give it a 5 star for good, unique and not expensive gift idea.
