Hillariously Hammy 22 Nov 2007
By Laxon
Format:DVD
Some people just don't like ham, and with most films Ham can make a film worse. Here however it was deliberate and just adds to the humour. Basicaly it has a dragon egg that needs to be saved, a willfull princess, a roaming band of pirates, and a knight who wants nothing more than an acre of land and a head of cattle. It's your basic family comedy, however one person dies in the film.

The reasoning behind this was for plot endings to all tie up nicely. The character was no longer required story line wise. A bit of an oversight realy. Alittle more tweaking of which characters could tell the story best was required. However I did like this movie and would quite happily sit down to watch it with the kids.

What a nice surprise 25 May 2011
Format:DVD
Great cast, and they are just having soooo much FUN making this movie. Gotta love Bill Oddie as the Inn Keeper.
I hadn't realised this would be a rather comedic movie. The dragon CGI at the beginning was several years out of date (sorry to the people who did it) and I suspect it was a budget thing. BUT it still works and it is a dragon so that's OK. Later dragon appearances are better. I loved the last "sniff" of our hero.
This is a fun movie that was made by a bunch of people having fun and who are passionate about film.

Just like the worst Saturday morning matinees I used to go to as a child in the 1950s. I loved every minute of it, but a good film it wasn't. The hero was wimpy, the heroine too 21st to have actually survived in the middle ages (remember Joan of Arc was burned for wearing trousers!) and the villains not bad enough to be really boo-able.

Only watch it if you want a good laugh.

I love this film. Great fun, reminds me of fun films from the eighties IE Willow. A gorgeous George and a sassy Princess. Fab, Funny, family fun :0) Two enthusiastic thumbs up!

A smashing storyline, which surprised me with the variation in the old fashioned Fairy tale.
A great mix of "love", humour, swashbuckling action (although not nautical), very... Read more

Too much George, too little dragon
The barely-even-released George and the Dragon is better than its troubled post-production history implies, but despite being considerably more competent the best that can really... Read more

George the man, not George the Saint.
A nice variation of a good British legend.

Good action, excellent fight scenes and a good level of dry humour. Read more

Quite humourous at times, Patrick looks gallent, not such a good guy here though and comes to an abrupt end! Read more

Proper entertainment!
We first saw bits of this film on television and were sufficiently intrigued to want to watch the whole thing. Having hired a copy, we thoroughly enjoyed it. Read more
