This must be the finest and most unmissable cd box set of all. The concert on the 9th August 1957 defies desciptive superlatives. I have never heard a greater more poetic yet brilliant performance of the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto by Nathan Milstein. The Eroica Symphony is truly something else, intensely fiery but missing nothing of the inner glow. This is a performance to play over and over again. George the Master, George the genius!
