I have had this grill for a day and only used it once so far to cook steak. They seemed to be cooked well but I was took a phone call while they were cooking so had to reheat it after this which left it overcooked. It left the seared grill marks on the steak which people like. I could not find measurements for the grill before buying it so here they are. The grill is 34cm wide and 43cm deep because of the handle. With the lid open and the grill tilted it stands 52cm tall, which means it cannot be opened under kitchen cabinets. This is my only problem with it so far and the reason I have not given it 5 stars. The grill does feel a bit rickety, but this is because of the floating hinge. It has loose fitting plates, but they stay in place and this adds to the hinge to adapt to the thickness of foods. They are easily removed and washed. I haven't put them in the dishwasher yet.
I bought this grill to replace my GF cafe grill which felt more solid and I think the hinge on that one will prove to be better at adapting to different thicknesses of food. The main thing I did not like about that one was that it was permanently tilted. This one can easily be put flat or tilted and the pizza plate can be used for eggs etc as well as pizza. Overall it appears to be more versatile and I am looking forward to trying cooking pizza, breakfasts including eggs and other things which I could not on my old cafe grill.
After a few more uses I have lowered the rating, it just does not get as hot as my old cafe grill. I tried eggs but to say this can cook them is laughable. As the heat is in the centre and it only just sizzles, the egg that ran to the edge was still raw after nearly 10 mins. I gave up and used a frying pan.
Another update after a month or so. I've now done pizza which came out with a crisp, but light and fluffy base which was better than the base comes out in the oven. The top plate rested on a thick pizza which was not really a problem, but I found the plates do not line up properly so it rested on one side only. After cooking this pizza I worked out that if you take the top plate off and lie it on the bottom one and then close the lid it will fit properly, but this is a poor design flaw from George Foreman. After having it for a while I would rate it 3 1/2 stars. I like the extra versatility and removable plates but my old cafe grill coped with thicker food better.
