Thank you George for inventing these grills you clever man. I first had one of these grills about 8 years ago and it was difficult to clean . This one is a doddle,the plates are easy to clean with a damp sponge. I guess non-stick technology has improved over the years. The grill is ready to go in about 2 minutes after switching on and what I love about them is that you can just put your food on the grill, set your timer, and leave it to do its work.I find it really handy for doing oven chips, no having to wait 15 minutes for the oven to pre-heat and another 15 for them to cook.My only gripe about the grill is that a crack appeared on the outer casing the day after it arrived but I couldn`t be doing with all the hassle of sending it back and it doesn`t affect the grills performance anyway.

I bought this item for one purpose, cooking steak, i always messed it up

Why did I take so long to buy one of these Grills? They are so quick and easy to use - save enery and the food is delicious cooked this way andso healthy.
The are also very easy to keep clean so long as you follow instructions

This is the second George Foreman Grill we have purchased. The first one lasted for years with no problems. This one is proving to be just as good. Careful - it does cook very quickly so don't turn away! We found steaks to be fabulous, as are toasted sandwiches. I have also tried a few oven chips on mine - great. No problems with this grill and thoroughly recommend it.

I am not a kitchen gadget person but was finally persuaded to invest in a GF grill by family & friends who owned one and swore that it had changed their culinary lives. I originally bought the 3 portion grill but when I received it was dismayed to see how small the grilling plate was - should have taken more note of the reviews! Amazon were very good - collected the grill and refunded me in full. I then bought the 4 portion grill which is perfect for 2. Meat has never tasted better although, as others have said, thicker portions tend to burn slightly on the outside before being cooked through. Vegetables are also delicious: especially good are peppers, onions and whole flat mushrooms. Unlike some other reviewers I haven't found the grill a problem to clean even when left until the following day (OK it does take a little longer than washing a frying pan!) and so far the non stick coating shows no sign of wear. The only down side as far as I am concerned (hence 4 stars only), is that it does seem to 'smell' the house out a lot more than stove cooking - I would definitely recommend placing the grill as near to the fan extractor as possible if you have one.

This was a really great buy - cooks in minutes and the meat or whatever you're cooking in never overcooked, tough or burnt. Very succulent meats. Easy to clean and maintain. Great gadget great food.

I have had many George Foreman grills over the years and I am a big fan and have always found them brilliant. Unfortunately this grill is not a good buy as it has to be watched the whole time as the food burns very quickly. I would have returned it to Amazon, but as I have had no problems in the past with these grills, I threw the packaging out. I wrote to George Forman, but I had to send it back and pay postage myself. I decided not to send it as it would be expensive. I should of course have read the reviews first as I see others have had the same problem.

DON'T buy those special cleaning pads, they are a waste of time and money as they fall apart.
This is an excellent grill for one or maybe two people but the times given for cooking things is all wrong. You need to experiment. A 2cm thick rump steak cooks in less than 3 minutes.
WHY CLEAN IT? Before you turn it on place a piece of kitchen foil on the bottom plate that will overhang into the drip tray. When it is up to temperature place your meat on the foil and then put another piece of foil on top of your meat. No mess on the plates. Just simply throw away the foil after cooking. The only meat that I have found needs spraying with oil first is pork steaks.
I have a kitchen full of gadgets and this is one of the most useful I have come across and is used 3 or four times a week.
