Best Ever George Grill,
This review is from: George Foreman 12617 Next Grilleration Health Grill with Removable Plates (Kitchen & Home)
I was really sceptical at first about these new removable plates as I have never found my George, cause thats what I call my grill, overly hard to clean but these removable plates are a wonder. After cooking dinner for my family all I have to do is whip the plates off the grill and then put them straight into my dishwasher.
Fantastic Grill - 5 Stars

Having 'killed' our previous George, the task of finding a replacement was daunting as there are so many variations on a George!! This one falls into the 'Ronseal' category - it does what it says on the tin!! Just make sure that the grillplates are clipped in. The facility to wash the grill plates is priceless. Buy one now - you won't be disappointed.

Died within 4 months,
This review is from: George Foreman 12617 Next Grilleration Health Grill with Removable Plates (Kitchen & Home)
I have used this fairly regularly since I bought it. I never normally had to remove the plates to clean them as they are easily wiped with a sponge. I have still had to remove the plates regularly as somehow the grease gets underneath them (I have no idea how it gets under the top plate). I think this is one of the reasons it died. As other people have mentioned, when new the plates are a fairly tight fit but after a while they get looser (the top one especially). This means that it seems to cook the lower part more than the top. It's not much of a problem as it still cooks well.
Well what happened after many uses is that I left it heating up (no more than 5 minutes) and then I heard some strange noises from the unit. I then saw a flash and it was obvious something had caught fire between the plates (probably a bit of oil). I approached it carefully as there was obviously a fire between the top plate. I switched it off and cleaned any oil I could find. Unfortunately it no longer works! I will claim under the warranty and hope it doesn't happen again. I am still not sure why it happened as it should not get hot enough to cause a fire. I must have used it at least 40 times in the 4 months I had it.
