George Cooper is a portfolio manager and author. His book, "The Origin of Financial Crises: Central banks, credit bubbles and the efficient market fallacy", explains why our financial system is inherently unstable and why the recent crisis has been so severe. George's analysis is a damming critique of both efficient market theory and recent monetary policy. His book has been favourably reviewed in both The Economist and Financial Times.
George worked for Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank and J.P.Morgan before establishing the fixed income investment business Alignment Investors with BlueCrest Capital Management in 2008. Prior to joining the city George worked as a research engineer at Durham University.
