Good points:
Filmed in the mid-late 70's, at the height of the P-Funk empire, this is a spectacular and incredibly funky show. The music is fantastic, the costumes are outrageous, the band is enourmous, with up to 40 people onstage at one point. This really sums up everything the P-Funk movement was, or is, about.
Bad points:
On the downside, you don't see the whole show, only highlights, but a P-Funk show could last for hours, and cutting it down might have been the best way to put it into DVD format.
There is no footage of the two support acts, Sly And The Family Stone or Bootsy's Rubber Band, although they do make an appearance towards the end. The camerawork concentrates on the singers - we see very little of the bands, other than on solos. It seems the cameraman thought musicians were to be heard and not seen.
Overall:
Despite the drawbacks, this is still well worth the money and more. It's absolutely essential for any Parliament-Funkadelic fan - or in fact, for anybody remotely interested in Funk. The highlight for me was the landing of The Mothership - spectacular, ridiculous, and very funky.
All in all, this is a classic.
