Geoffrey Jones was born in Birmingham. After teaching at Cambridge and Reading universities, and at the London School of Economics, he moved to the United States to become the Isidor Straus Professor of Business History at the Harvard Business School. He has written on the history of globalization. Beauty Imagined, his new book, explores the globalization of the beauty industry over the last two centuries, showing how firms have contributed to changing perceptions of what it means to be beautiful. He is currently researching the history of green entrepreneurship over the last sixty years. He lives outside Boston in Massachusetts.
