Geoff Russell (born 1948, St Albans, Herts)
Educated Aberdeen University. Having spent much of his adult life as a long distance ruuner Geoff took up breeding and exhibiting Rabbits whilst in his 40's. He specialised in the English Lop winning all of the breeds' trophies many times over. A qualified Judge and District Advisor Geoff took to writing about rabbits, for five years he wrote a monthly column in Fur and Feather magazine entitled Notes from the Shed. Numerous other articles followed in rabbit magazines around the world. Geoff wrote A Fanciers Guide to the Lop Rabbit and Showing Rabbits for Fur and Feather, he followed this with a major work 'The English Lop' that he self-published. 'The Mini Encyclopedia of Rabbit Breeds and Care'followed for Interpet.
Geoff has just completed writing the notes for 'Beautiful Rabbits Postcards' and 'The Beautiful Rabbits Book' that will be published by Ivy Press in 2011.
Although maintaining an interest in rabbits Geoff has now returned to his first love of running and recently completed his first Ironman Triathlon and represented Great Britain at the World Duathlon Championships in 2010.
