After reading the other review, I contacted Genus who told me that the clock is visible if unit is left on standby rather than being switched off. Hope this helps.

Genus Portable CD player and DAB/FM radio,

I love this CD player/DAB radio. It looks good, sounds good, has good features in terms of presetting 10 channels,etc. I haven't even figured out what programming 99 songs from CDs means yet! The only problem is: it's not a clock too! I have it sitting by my bed - for its good sounds and alarm function....but you need to have a clock there too, to know the time whenever the radio's NOT on. Oh well.
