The charger is a genuine Toshiba part. I initially ordered the wrong part number and contacted the supplier who responded immediately with instructions for return which I did the same day and received the correct replacement by return of post. I highly recommend both the product and the supplier for their excellent service.
Yes it's genuine but the cable internally became detached from the socket which plugs into the lap top. I bought this for my old Toshiba lap top (which I had given to my daughter when I replaced it with a wizzy Toshiba Qosmio) The lap top itself is around 5 years old and other than the on board mouse pad giving up the ghost (resolved by plugging in a wired mouse) it remains extremely functional - despite extremely heavy handed treatment from my 7 year old. The original power adaptor died of over use (the battery had lost the ability to retain a charge 2 years before) - so I bought a new charger. This one lasted about a month before it stopped working. Yes I could have returned it - but I wasn't absolutely certain that the 7 year old had't influenced its functionality in some way. After a while fiddling with it I realised the internal cable was defective at the join to the socket which goes into the lap top - I guess she'd 'yanked' it too hard whilst throwing the lap top across the room. I stripped the socket end down and sure enough the solder had come adrift internally. 5 mins later all was back together. Now its fine. You shouldn't have to do this kind of thing but I'm guessing Toshiba haven't met my daughter. Was it her or a fault in the product? Who knows.
At first i recieved the product fast delivery and worked fine, but three months later suddenly stopped working, emailed recieved no reply, would not buy from these again...beware
