I purchased this item as I needed to get to an obscure (to me) town in Eastern Germany and my Tom Tom had only space for a limited geographical area. I had chosen Western Europe, as we normally go to Spain a lot. In theory I already have the map of the whole of Europe, just not enough space on my Tom Tom to contain it. Even when I bought and fitted a blank 4GB card and tried to download, from the Tom Tom website, the map of all Europe there were repeated download problems (I think very slow servers Tom Tom's end) which frustrated me. However that is a different story.
The card turned up promptly and was, I thought, at a reasonable price considering what you are getting here - i.e the road map of all of Europe (just compare that to the cost of all the road atlases you would have to buy)
There were no problems loading the card and the Tom Tom, when fired up, displayed my destination straight away (I tested it before I left home). On arrival at Berlin (Tegel) airport I fitted the product, in my SatNav into my hire car and set the destination. The destination route and distance came up straight away. I cannot comment on the route chosen (as my knowledge of Berlin and Eastern Germany's geography is limited) however the Tom Tom took me there with just the one exception. This was an attempt to take me from a side road, into a main road via a junction that looked to be long since cut off. I retraced my steps, went down another side road (despite Tom Tom's protestations) and eventually the SatNav found me another, viable route. I eventually arrived at the small German town, in the old DDR, about 10 minutes later than first predicted. So 3 Stars I think, would have been 4 but for the dead end and the near impossibility of updating via the Tom Tom website.

Tom Tom map of uk and europe memory card,as my 730 is loaded with north america maps it needed to be updated to uk maps, just plug in, alter a couple of settings,and it works fine, and still keeps the american accent if you want.

Bought this from Avides and it was with me in a couple of days. However, its installation was a bit of a hassel as it did not boot up with me switching on the tomtom. Spoke with tomtom and was initially told card was defective. To return anything to Avides you have to phone Germany and they have to send you an emailed returns sticker as a return has to be authorised. Avides will charge you £8 unless there is a genuine fault.The only disadvantage with this company. However after seeing the SD card's content displayed on my computer I realised that the card was ok. Spoke this time with someone at tomtom who knew what he was talking about and all it needed was for me to

Tap on the main screen to get to the main menu
Tap on Change Preferences
Go through and tap on Manage Maps / Switch maps and choose your map of Western Europe
