It sems the reviewer above found the book too complicated and needs pictures to help her understand what she's making. For the rest of us, however, this is another indispensible home cook book from Signor Contaldo, mentor to Jamie Oliver and owner of one of the best Italian restaurants in London. True to its title, the recipes are simple and straightforward, as all Italian cooking should be. At the same time they are imaginative - turkey with orange and pomegranate for example - and properly Italian. What I like about Contaldo is the way he takes you beyond the obvious without ever becoming fiddly or difficult. Cucina italiana from the master.
