I love popcorn tea and I was looking for a decent alternative to the horrifically overpriced stuff that Teapigs and other health food shops are selling near me.
This tea is slightly dustier and more bitter than the popcorn tea I have had from Teapigs and from the sellers at Greenwich Market. Being a recent convert I have only tried three or four varieties but this is very enjoyable. You only need a small teaspoon of the mix for a brew and as I said it is slightly more bitter than the more processed versions I have had. Make sure you strain this using freshly boiled water and it's the most refreshing, comforting tea I have ever had next to a good Jasmine Loose Leaf. Recommended if you love popcorn tea and want to drink it regularly but don't want to break the bank, this is a really good sized serving for the money.

Was very please with this. A lot more tea in the pack than I'd imagined so seemed like a good bargain. A very nice tea but after going to Japan and drinking a lot of this over there I can't give this a 5* as it's just not the same. Enjoyed it a lot though!

I picked up this product as I was looking for value for money in the first place. One of the reviewers on Amazon.com pointed out the low quality of the product and I agree this is not the best I saw/drank. The leaves seem a bit rough chopped and there is definitely less 'popcorn' rice than in the product I bought previously in a speciality tea shop. The rice gives the tea its unique flavour.
As with any speciality product however, it is important to follow some preparation steps. These include: the temperature of the water (not boiling), the dosage (no more tea than required, one teaspoon per teacup) to avoid bitter flavour, abd the infusion time (up to 3 minutes and no more than 3 times), and the type of teapot used (ideally glass or iron cast teapot in my opinion). Once the steps are followed the outcome is a nice cup of green tea.

I love this tea and will definitely buy more. I had this kind of tea at Boston Tea Party in Bristol and so I hunted for some online, and this one has great taste and excellent value for money.
