3.0 out of 5 stars OK but uncritical 26 Sep 2011
By Peter
Relatively inexpensive and accurate as far as it goes, but like this series rather leans to a gushing and over-enthusiastic style which smacks more of tourist office hand-out than critical traveller's guide. It does not make clear what is most people's reaction to Geneva, namely that it is an exceptionally expensive city.

4.0 out of 5 stars Thom Cook Pocket Guide - Geneva 4 Sep 2011
By Captain
If you're after a guide that isn't heavy (in both senses), doesn't take up too much space as it literally fits in the pocket and includes maps and main attractions in Geneva & also details of other towns / villages nearby (Carouge, Annecy) then this is the perfect guide book. Cheap too, on Amazon.

3.0 out of 5 stars Needs better editing? 21 Sep 2011

I love this little guide except that, unless they are hidden very well, I cannot find the key to the numbered items on the maps! There are great listings and I already know I will love Geneva, but it is very frustrating to see all the great listings, and then see a map with numbers, but the numbers have not been associated with the listings in any way that I can see. I think I need to go to the publisher's website and see if they have listed the key to the codes there (or, perhaps, I will try to get them to send me a corrected version of the book for free...)

2.0 out of 5 stars Thomas Cook Geneva guide 15 July 2012

Although the guide was packed with information about sights to see in Geneva , the text did not correlate to the numbered locations identified on the maps. This made the maps useless in planning where we wanted to go as we had no idea what the numbers were identifying.
