Having this guide book is better than not having a guide book at all.... but only just.
I was in Geneva for a day and half, and wanted a quick rundown of the best things I could do in that time. To be fair, this book did provide that, but the whole thing was written in a gushy, simpering language, overloaded with flowery adjectives and short on facts and useful insights. It became slightly irritating after a while, and left me with the impression that I was reading an advertisement for the city rather than an objective view of what it has to offer.
I would also say that it wasn't particular user-friendly - the maps were scattered randomly throughout the book with nothing to aid quick reference, so that you kept losing the page you needed, and the information about each place of interest was not easily linked back to these maps. The whole thing was just quite muddy and laborious; I usually keep guide books on my shelf after I have visited a place, but this one isn't worth the space and will be going to the charity shop. If I ever visit Geneva again, I am SURE there are better guides out there!
