Great piece of kit for the price and takes the multitude of chips for cameras, sat nav etc. Only four stars since the socket for the mini-USB is fairly slack but there was no loss of data and transfer of image data is very fast through a USB 2.0 hub. Yes, I'd buy it again and from the same seller, delivery was prompt and I can't see the point of paying more.

I bought two of these a while back. They work adequately. I've used CF, SD and other card with no problems. Sometimes it can be a bit of guesswork which slot and which way around the card should go, but certainly for Compact Flash it is tabbed appropriately.Good value for money and all that, but ... the socket for the USB cable is only soldered to the circuit board and quite wobbly. It stopped working after not an unreasonable amount of use - on inspection it was clear that the wires holding the socket had snapped. I'm normally gentle and look after my stuff, so I was surprised that this happened. If you're going to leave it plugged in and not dangle it by the cable (which is all but impossible!) then this little device might serve you a long time. I'm about to buy another and it probably won't be one of these.

I've tried it with an SD and Compact Flash card. The only two types I use at home.Firstly, the device was recognised instantly by windows XP - No problems. When I inserted the card, the device lit up and the card was instantly recognised as a new drive in "My Computer". In both cases I was able to transfer data to my pc at a 'seemingly' fast rate. Admittedly, I was unable to measure actual speed, but it seemed to be as quick as when my camera is connected directly via cable. So, bottom line....it is very cheap, it works, it looks solid. Does the job. Can't be better than that really.
