Product Description

Roddy Lumsden

Generation Txt looks at all points of poetry's star and is less
concerned with the middle ground, which makes this selection of young
writers more vital and a truer cross section of the poetry which will
progress and flourish.

Times Education Supplement, February 12, 2007

You can never have too many collections of poetry. There will
always be a moment when only that one particular poem will do, and this
collection is a creative ideas manual.
It is replete with off beat and tangential work that's likely to inspire
the more reluctant poetry appreciators. These six young poets are joyfully
working with Ezra Pound's dictum to `make it new' and doing it with extreme
effervescence.

5.0 out of 5 stars witty and wacky - , 26 Feb 2007
A great tube read! More accessible than you might think, for an anthology of young poetry - this lively collection has none of the cliches of angry streetspeak and florid introspection that we might expect from a gang of fresh faced young artistes. Instead canny observations into social rituals like the chucking out of restaurant food, and soft musings such as Abigal Oborne's innovatively displayed sonnets place literary credibility above cool.

You can definately dip in and out of it at leisure, and each poem is pretty easy to get your head round on a first reading- a bonus. Look out for Emma McGordon's Love Letters and Innua Ellam's Epic. Anyone who can think up the image 'brixton in her backpack' deserves to be read!
