Bought this for an 11 year old who collects crystals its a great little book as an introduction to the fascinatination of gems.

A great pocket book to have with you when you are traveling and need to find a surtain stone and some info about it. I would recomend this book as a first book or as a gift for a beginner or a younger rockie.

I bought this book for my grandma about 5 or 6 years ago. Its a VERY SMALL book. fits in your pocket, but definatly worth reading. basic info on every gem on the planet.
but if you want detailed, page after page long info on a certain rare gem- this is not the book. this is just a gorgeous simple overview.

It's great to have lots of information about stones in a pocket guide. This one is in some coated paper, making it durable. Different stones get different pages and the information layout is well written. Things one might need to know when looking or buying stones is in this book. The PRICE value for stones is not, but it does tell how other minerals and inclusions are supposed to look. Definately worth buying.
