This is not just a toy, it's the most crazy product ever! - run a shallow bath and sprinkle in the dry powder over the surface of the water, the whole lot turns into a brightly coloured sloppy, slimy, gel. We ran a bath of 6cms as instructed, and it was a fairly 'firm' gel, so could have been a bit deeper. It is like the gel which retains water for plants or flowers. My 9 yr old got in and so did the 13 yrs old who both spent the next 45 minutes playing in it. True the bathroom got covered in a fair bit of it, but it just wipes off and doesn't seem to stain anything. Also if it slops over the side of the bath it stays as a small lump, so doesn't flood the place.

As they say this would also be a great outdoor summer paddling pool product. When you are finished, just add the other packet it comes with, which it turns it into a more liquid product, and hence will go down the plughole easily. Don't worry I don't think it would block a drain as it feels like lots of small particles once it is made up, it's not like a jelly, all solid. My kids are now desperate for some more!

My kids have been going on about this product for ages, so I gave in and bought one, good news is that the kids have got it out of their system now and won't ask for it again! It didn't do as the advert suggests, it stayed pretty gritty, even when the powder was applied to turn the water back it didn't really work either. I ended up draining the water and starting the bath again. Hay-ho. Next time I will believe other reviews and not bend to the pressures of the kids!

I bought 4 packets of Gelli Baff to create a 'gunge tank' in our paddling pool for my son's 'It's a Knockout' birthday party this summer. The kids loved it and went in several times to get covered in the gel. There were no allergic reactions and the children 'hosed down' well enough to be returned to their parents in a reasonable state.
The only problem we have had with the product is getting rid of it. We carefully followed the instructions to convert the gel back to 'water' before we emptied the paddling pool. However, this process is not very effective and our garden is still covered -1 month later- with a very slippery gel-like substance. Both myself and my mother have slipped whilst trying to walk on that area. It shows no sign of disappearing.
