Product Description

Designed for advanced users; GELID's Silent PWM fans provide additional airflow by using Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) to automatically adjust fan speed according to the CPU load. The fan can be idled down and thus be much quieter. An intelligent IC has been integrated into the fans PCB to exploit the mainboards BIOS software. This technology is more efficient and convenient than using an external fan controller to adjust the fan speed.

Each fan impeller has been individually balanced using the latest technology to guarantee steady; unwavering operation. To add to the silence; fan mounts replace traditional screws and are made of high quality; temperature resistant; extra long lasting rubber to stop vibrations from the fan motor from travelling into your PC case.
How does PWM work? Pulse-width modulation (PWM) delivers a digital signal. The advantages of using a digital PWM signal compared to an analogue controller are:
- PWM control calculates the appropriate cooling performance according to CPU and System temperature - PWM control of your mainboard will always adjust to the correct cooling - PWM control operates without generating any heat

I have a few gelid silent fans but the pwm model is a but noisier even lowering the rpm to 1000 (to match the non pwm) it gives more of a rumble ...ive already had this one replaced as it became even noisier..i tied contacting Gelid once no reply ,
Not sure if I'll be keeping this one in my pc ......on the plus side if you already have noisier fans than say the 140 silent then it shifts plenty more air with the extra 200 rpm

I already have almost all of my computers with these Fans.

I guess there will be a time that I won't hear any of them working any more,

I bought two, to replace existing Antec 3-way fans in one case. Normally my Gelid fans are great, but this time one of them has a hard time getting going. And I've switched the two around and tried it on other computers. It just doesn't want to turn when the Motherboard is saying "Turn slowly".
