Just purchased this tent to replace very small simplistic pop up tent, and I've got to say that I'm very very impressed by the quality and ease of set up of this tent. It's about 20 years since I erected a 'normal' tent so was expecting this to take me some time, but no. I had this tent set up and ready for use within 30 mins, on my own and including a stop to make a phone call!! The tent seems very well put together indeed considering the price range it's in. I would honestly say that this tent could hold it's own, build quality wise, with tents in a much much more expensive bracket than this one.
Ease of set up, well I can't emphasise enough how easy this tent is to erect. Simply unroll, lay out flat, insert the support poles and peg it down-no problems at all. And I was doing this on quite a gusty evening and as already said, on my own.
Plenty of guy ropes and tent pegs. As others have said though the supplied tent pegs do seem rather flimsy but I was setting up on quite soft ground so had no problems. That said I will be grabbing some better quality pegs before I go to use this tent for real. Might seem like a silly statement but the fact that the guy ropes are very bright and luminous I think, is an added bonus, no more trips and falls while walking round the tent at night.
Once I set the tent up I walked round and gave it a very heavy handed 'shaking' to see how sturdy it was, and again was very impressed, tent seems rock solid. I'd genuinely have no qualms using this tent on a very windy, stormy nights camping.
Haven't been able to test out how water proof it is, but going by the rest of the quality this tent oozes I'd hazard a guess and say that it will hold up well against pretty much anything that the UK's camping season weather can throw at it.
Space inside is everything you could want, excellent space in the porch for storage or even to sit in if the rain comes down, you could very easily cook in the porch, just be careful not to set the whole thing up in flames!! The actual sleeping area is very roomy for 2 people, but I'd have to say that 3 people, unless they were rather small, would probably be a wee bit cramped. Would be perfect for 2 x adults and 1 x child, or 3 children.
Had a bit of a wrestling session to get it all packed away again, but that was probably more down to my cack handedness and the fact that I was on my own.
To sum up, for this price, I challenge anyone to find a better value, quality tent. If you are in the market for a quality tent and are budget conscious, then this is the perfect answer.
Thanks for reading......and.....
GET IT BOUGHT!! :-)
