5.0 out of 5 stars Amazon to the rescue......... 14 July 2010
Needed a new tent for my trips out on the motorbike as the one I had, although very good, it was just a tad too big and abit of a pain to put up after long trips. Being a tunnel construction tent also meant it was liable to sway and vibrate in high winds.

Saw the 3 man Gelert tornado tent whilst on a trip out and the guy who had it, gave it a huge rave review with regards to ease in putting it up and it being able to with stand high winds and driving rain.

My first tent came with three problems that I did not find until on camp site, yeah I know I should have put it up before hand but time was not on my side. This is where Amazon came to the rescue and with no fuss what so ever and what I would call 5 star service above and beyond the call of duty, sent me a new one and paid for the old one to be sent back to them.

The new tent is excellent and does the job. Easy to errect and take down and packs away in about 15 minutes. Loads of room for just me and maybe 2, but you would be pushing it at 3 people. The only fly in the ointment is as other people have said already, the pegs that come with it are useless. Take yourself to Halfords and buy a twin pack of their pegs, (22) they are the good ones.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gelert Tornado Three Man Tent 5 April 2011
Just purchased this tent to replace very small simplistic pop up tent, and I've got to say that I'm very very impressed by the quality and ease of set up of this tent. It's about 20 years since I erected a 'normal' tent so was expecting this to take me some time, but no. I had this tent set up and ready for use within 30 mins, on my own and including a stop to make a phone call!! The tent seems very well put together indeed considering the price range it's in. I would honestly say that this tent could hold it's own, build quality wise, with tents in a much much more expensive bracket than this one.

Ease of set up, well I can't emphasise enough how easy this tent is to erect. Simply unroll, lay out flat, insert the support poles and peg it down-no problems at all. And I was doing this on quite a gusty evening and as already said, on my own.

Plenty of guy ropes and tent pegs. As others have said though the supplied tent pegs do seem rather flimsy but I was setting up on quite soft ground so had no problems. That said I will be grabbing some better quality pegs before I go to use this tent for real. Might seem like a silly statement but the fact that the guy ropes are very bright and luminous I think, is an added bonus, no more trips and falls while walking round the tent at night.

Once I set the tent up I walked round and gave it a very heavy handed 'shaking' to see how sturdy it was, and again was very impressed, tent seems rock solid. I'd genuinely have no qualms using this tent on a very windy, stormy nights camping.

Haven't been able to test out how water proof it is, but going by the rest of the quality this tent oozes I'd hazard a guess and say that it will hold up well against pretty much anything that the UK's camping season weather can throw at it.

Space inside is everything you could want, excellent space in the porch for storage or even to sit in if the rain comes down, you could very easily cook in the porch, just be careful not to set the whole thing up in flames!! The actual sleeping area is very roomy for 2 people, but I'd have to say that 3 people, unless they were rather small, would probably be a wee bit cramped. Would be perfect for 2 x adults and 1 x child, or 3 children.

Had a bit of a wrestling session to get it all packed away again, but that was probably more down to my cack handedness and the fact that I was on my own.

To sum up, for this price, I challenge anyone to find a better value, quality tent. If you are in the market for a quality tent and are budget conscious, then this is the perfect answer.

    Thanks for reading......and.....

    GET IT BOUGHT!! :-)

    4.0 out of 5 stars NICE 3 Jun 2010
I have bought this tent for Glastonbury, hopefully should do us well for 5 nights of camping. There is only 2 of us staying in it which i believe it is the perfect size for... not too big not too small, we found that a 2 man tent is a bit too cosy for 5 nights of camping. The porch is a nice size, we expected it to bigger as the images do make it look a lot more lengthier, the side door seems a bit pointless once you've put it up because the porch isn't actually as big as it looks, but a decent area to put all your food/cooking equipment/wellies, but all in all it is a brilliant sized tent for 2-3 people at a festival!

2.0 out of 5 stars To small
To small for 3 people. Waterproofing not very good. Easy to set up. Water came streaming through zips and all our food got wet. Not the best tent I ever had.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great tent
A great tent at a great price. Slightly fiddly to get the poles in - suggest you practice first! Plenty of room for two, though three people with gear would be a bit cramped.
