I agree with the other positive reviews on this product. It's a slightly different colour than the pictures (more green really) I think it looks better than advertised but I guess that's personal preference. Materials/stitching etc are superb. The bag has an internal frame in the form of two lightweight metal poles which run from bottom to top, one on each side. These poles are housed in narrow stitched channels so they can't move around but they can be removed simply if desired as each channel has a Velcro fastener at the top. The bag actually offers more utility than the picture suggests. There are two small pockets in the hood section (one internal, one external) and there are also side pockets, albeit fairly flat ones. They are however big enough to fit the most common long, thin style of hydration bladder.
Overall I am very pleased with this product, the best part is the price. I've seen similar bags of inferior quality for double the price. Probably the best bargain I've ever had on Amazon.

Its built as good as anything else you would pay £150 for! it does not say on the description nor webiste but this 'does' has metal back bars also. side pockets probably only good for maps etc but this is meant to be an 'all in' one compartment bit of kit.. very very comfortable, very good materials. would of paid 3x as much.

I love this rucksack- it's been with me for 4 months in India and 7 months across Central America. No wear and tear sustained yet apart from a small hole inbetween the side and main pocket. 65 litres is the perfect size for all my gear and more. The key to this brilliant design is how tall and slim the pack is. Unlike my boyfriend's pack that was wide and chunky, leaning away from his body, my Gelert Explorer hugged my back and was easier to walk long distances with, and run for buses! Love it. Great khaki colour too.

This is an absolutely solid piece of equipment.

I bought this for hiking on Dartmoor and it easily took my two-man tent, sleeping mat, clothes, several kilos of food, all my other equipment and more.

The padding on the straps is vital, and this rucksack lives up to the required standards there; the hip straps and shoulder straps are so well made that I easily hiked over 50 miles without any aches at all.

When you can't physically feel an item as crucial as a rucksack you're going on the advice of others who have already purchased it, and in this regard I have to say I give the product a 100% approval mark. Gelert doesn't put it's name on rubbish items and this bag is no exception.

The stitching is top notch, the buckles and fasteners are of the best quality and the frame is solid.

If you're confused over litre capacity, a rough idea I can offer is the following: this rucksack holds enough of my gear to spend a week in the wild. If you tend to bring "everything and the kitchen sink" when you go camping then I suggest a slightly larger bag, but you really would need to be bringing an *absurd* amount with you to justify getting anything larger than this bag for camping alone. If you're off trekking around Everest for a month then, sure, get a 100+ litre bag. Otherwise, this is the best on the market for its price and quality. Having had a similar but smaller rucksack (made by Karrimor) for 26 years and still going, I fully expect to be using this Gelert rucksack in 20 years time too.

Do not be tempted to buy an ultra-cheap piece of rubbish. If you do, your shoulders and back will never forgive you.

Remember the old adage: "Buy cheap, buy twice".

Bought for lugging my stuff to Glastonbury and did the job well and fitted all my stuff in fine (apart from drinks and food). I couldn't get the straps to sit as well as other people with the same bag. Maybe it's because I'm a smaller female as opposes to a tall male. Not horribly uncomfortable though.

I like that this allows you to open the main compartment from top or bottom. Great for separating your things up. Also has plenty of handy pockets and exterior straps which easily held sleeping bags and mats etc.

Bought this rucksack for Glasto next month. It came this morning so I haven't had chance to use it quite yet. Had a good look over it and it is very well made, seams seem strong and the material heavy duty. By far the best rucksack I've come across for its price range. Considering becoming homeless and giving up my job just so I can use it everyday, exciting stuff.
