Product Description

Product Description

ASUS GeForce GTX 780 DirectCU II graphics cards feature an ASUS-designed PCB and a completely new look for the DirectCU II cooler, as well as DIGI+ VRM digital power delivery and robust Super Alloy Power components. GeForce GTX 780 DirectCU II cards use an NVIDIA GK110-300 GPU with 2304 CUDA cores. They ship with 3GB GDDR5 video memory on a 384-bit interface. For avid PC gamers who demand ultra-high detail and readiness for resolutions beyond full HD 1080p, GeForce GTX 780 DirectCU II cards deliver extreme cooling, stability, and endurance well above reference card standards.

Exclusive DirectCU II thermal design includes a direct-GPU contact 10mm copper heatpipe and 220% larger dissipation area to boost heat removal efficiency. It performs 30% cooler and 3X quieter than reference.

Proprietary CoolTech fan consists of a hybrid blade and bearing design, with inner radial blower and outer flower-type blades. These provide multi-directional airflow to accelerate heat removal and enable highly stable graphics performance.

Acclaimed DIGI+ VRM has been applied via a 10-phase power design that uses digital voltage regulators to minimize power noise by 30%, enhance power efficiency by 15%, widen voltage modulation tolerance, and improve overall stability and longevity by 2.5 times over reference.

Technology for intelligent monitoring of clock speed, ensuring that the GPU runs at its peak and the game is at its highest frame rate possible. It offers new levels of customization, including GPU temperature target, overclocking, and unlocked voltage.

Did a lot of research on upgrading my Palit GTX 570 to an Asus GTX 780, especially given that the new card cost 5x what I sold the older 5xx series for, however after the last few days I can now see why a GPU is in some instances more important than a CPU. This Asus GTX 780 has 7.1 billion transistors in a chip the size of a postage stamp, that's 4x more than my Intel i7. Anyway the card is very slim and solid, but at 28.7 cm it just about fit in my ATX case - had to move some cables running parallel to my hard drives up & over the graphics card.

Pro's
(1) Totally Silent (had to manually turn up the fan to 100% to really hear it, never exceeds 55% when extreme gaming)
(2) Runs cold, around 24-degrees centigrade at idle when my CPU is 22 degrees and my motherboard 19, so very good.
(3) Even playing CoD Ghosts with 4 x TXAA and everything on to 'Extra', never drops a frame and runs fast and below 65 degrees GPU temp.
(4) Quality build and it shows, especially accessories, protective parts ( contact sleeves), packaging etc.
(5) Very simple to overclock with GPU Tweak - just set the max power target and temp - also prompts you at each PC restart
(6) Came with Assasins Creed IV Black Flag for free (well mine did as I purchased of an online retailer in Europe - to pay in Euros as the Sterling rate was too much right now to buy on Amazon, especially when Bank charges you at current FX rate minus tuppence + commission then), but this game plays at maximum settings with this card and looks good on my 40-inch screen
(7) Comfort factor - just knowing that its there when I need to use Photoshop/Illustrator/Premiere etc. or when I want to game online is great. Also future proofs my custom built PC for another couple of years, well it will once I get an SSD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing! Bought 2 of these cards for SLI 3 Nov 2013

I had GTX 680 SLI and decided to upgrade to the 780 SLI. Easy install. Put the 2 new cards in the motherboard and put the power cables in the pins and your ready to go. Installed the new drivers as well. I play on 1440p monitor and get a smooth 60fps in ultra settings at 1440p resolution which is good because the 680 SLI were dipping all the time a few days ago. Far cry 3 with everything maxed out including anti aliasing at 8* gets around 50-60fps but mostly 60fps at 1440p which is awesome as the 680 SLI got me at same settings around 20-40fps. crysis 3 at maxed out 1440p with MSAA 8* got me 30-60fps but it stuck mostly around 45fps depending on the level etc. I have to say the cards have performed very well and kept cool never going over 75 Celsius and having less noise than the 680 SLI, I have even seen that the 780 SLI compared to the Titan SLI are around the same only a few fps apart so very good value for 2 cards compared to the titan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing card 15 Jun 2014

I bought two of these monsters after having months of serious performance from the one. I bought the second to play at 4k and it does the job brilliantly. Bf3/4 maxed at 4k ultra and getting 40-70 frames per second. It is a shame not all games support two way cards (sli) but that is no fault of NVidia or asus. The card is very cool and quiet. Just the one card is enough to play most games at ultra @1440p but I would recommend two if going any higher. Some games run very well with one card at 4k like murdered soul suspect, 100 frames per second ultra @4k. You really cant complain for the price either. One reason I would recommend this over the main competition (r9 290x) is that NVidia give special graphical effects like PhysX and extra lighting effects in quite a few games, plus the gtx 780 is much quitter and cooler. 10/10 card

This card just rips though any game i through at it, even at 2560 x 1440.

The built in asus function to boost the card works well, i have to actually set the fan level to 100% if i wanted to hear it. The card never reaches past 60' C for myself however even under load, so 100% isnt required.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great card at factory speeds 31 Dec 2013

It runs flawlessly and with complete silence at stock ASUS OC speed, but the USP for this product is silence and coolness, I've not had much luck OCing it with the accompanying Asus GPU Tweak.

Got this card to replace mt gtx 670 ref as it was starting to struggle at higher details on newer games on the highest details, I am impressed with how little noise it makes and how cool it stays under a 1185mhz overclock under gaming level on bf4 with everything on ultra at 1080p. Under gaming load it never gets past 70c and the card never gets louder than my h80i water pump. In bioshock infinite on max details have not noticed any big fps drop to a point it drops below 60fps.

All in all it's a great card and looks nice in any case and for 385 it was a steal compared to everywhere else.
