I am far from being a child but acquired the first book as it was free on Kindle. There should be a health warning on these as they are truly addictive. The story leaves you on such a knife edge you have to know what is going to happen next. As soon as I read book one I just had to buy books 2, 3 and 4. I cannot put them down. I have never read a series of books straight off before but you cannot help it with these.

Part 6 of this amazing narnia style going-through-time adventure. I've read the whole saga now - bought part 1 then had to read the rest! The best read I've had for years. You DO need to start at Part 1 though. The King family in their strange home where the corridor of rooms has portals to different times. Family members get taken/found etc. and they visit numerous times in history - always dangerous and exciting and twists and turns galore throughout. I'm middle aged and this is a young adult book I believe (the children in the story are the main protagonists) but I think it would suit anyone who enjoys a well written exciting adventure. Thoroughly recommended!

We last left Xander and David King in the Civil War world where they stumbled onto a clue to their mother's whereabouts. They rush back to tell their father, only to discover Taksidian and some cops at the front door. Taksidian has reported the Kings' house as unfit to live in. Then another strange old man arrives on their doorstep, claiming to be a long lost relative. Does this Jesse really know stuff about the house? And could he be right? Had the house called the King family back because they are Gatekeepers?
I love this series. Book three took off right where book two ended and hooked me with non-stop action, adventure, and surprising new twists. I read this one so quickly, I was thankful I had book four waiting, but then when I finished book four...yep. Now I have to wait! Book five isn't out yet. Rats! I highly recommend this series for boys, especially, but also for any reader who loves suspense, action, and adventure. A very creative and continually surprising tale.
