As the last review said, the purpose of this CD is not merely to be another classics collection but to tie in with Gatecrasher's 14th birthday event which took place at Magna in Sheffield this weekend. And this it achieves pretty well. Disc 1 is effectively the classics CD, bringing things down to 1 disc instead of 2 or 3 as in other collections, and matches the kind of stuff Scott Bond would have been playing in Room 2. It's a fair collection, but as other reviewers mention, there are plenty of these about and you really only need one in your collection (or just the original compilations if you have a collection going back that far). Personally, the Classic Euphoria CDs are the best of this breed I've seen so far.
Discs 2 and 3 are more about the material played in the main room, where I spent the night. Both Matt Hardwick and Judge Jules played sets so it's not surprising that the CDs represent the kind of material that was played. This is especially true of disc 3, which I think is more representative of today's scene. There are some good recent and current tunes packed in on there, such as 'Anthem', 'Lemon Tree' and 'Bulldozer' that are certainly worth a listen.
If you went to Magna on the 22nd, buy this for the memories. If not, buy this because you wish you did.
