Yet another stunning album from the Lions Den.
I bought this after going to Gatecrasher at the NEC 2001, and after witnessing what I can only describe as the best club experience I have ever had, I was in search of an album that reflected that momentous occasion: cue 'Gatecrasher Digital'.
Three epic CD's to take you from sundown to sunrise.
The first CD eases you in with a progressive feel and dark beats. The first track 'Turkish Bizaar' by POB & art of trance is a meloding and somewhat uplifting opener that sets the feel for the rest of the CD. Further peaks come from tracks like 'Sepia' by Max Graham, 'Mirage' by hemstock and jennings, and the fantastic 'the legacy' by Push.
The second CD pushes up a gear and dives into a set of hard trance/techno. I loved this CD. Raw, relentless, and boshing. Storming tracks from Mauro Picotto, Marco V, Bosporus, and V-two ensure that you'll be reaching for your glowsticks and horns.
Finally, the chillout disc. I have heard many people say how unhappy they are with the inclusion of a third ambient CD. From a certain point of view, it is understandable that chillout has been plugged in where further great trance could have been included. However, I thought that it was an innovative and thoughtful way of bringing the album to a close. Fantastic chilled mixes from Saints and Sinners, Charlie May, and Datar. This CD remains resident in my player every evening with its thoughtful melodic sounds, and rounds off what is potentially one of the greatest albums in my collection.
enjoy...
