By Iona Tamsin Stewart TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Mass Market Paperback
This is another important, if not essential book, for those of any age with a true desire to improve their health. It is one of the most useful and informative books I have read on the subject of health and nutrition.

This is a scientifically-based book and the only "complaint" I have is that Null doesn't always explain the exact nature of the supplement he recommends, i.e. whether it is an amino acid or whatever. The reader is obviously not 100% knowledgeable on these matters otherwise he or she wouldn't need to read the book.

Otherwise, an awesome book. Among other things there are chapters on preventing cancer, Alzheimers and other brain problems and one on recipes for power aging - Null's term for aging in a positive and transformative manner.

Perhaps the most impressive chapter is the final one, where elderly persons from 60-90 present their amazing testimonials recounting how their lives have been fantastically transformed by following Gary Null's precepts. Even their original hair colour has returned.

What I appreciated most about the book was my introduction to the concept of juicing to cleanse out all toxins and to regain normal functions. I have already taken steps to obtain my first portion of "green juice powder".

I strongly recommend this book, whether or not you currently have health problems. It will transform your life should you choose to follow Gary Null's advice.

OK 16 July 2005

This book is pretty good if you haven't read any other books by Null. If you have, I would forget about it. Mainly because he doesn't really bring anything new to the table. The only difference between Power Aging and his previous books are in the way the information is arranged. Other than that, it is basically recycled material. Good for a new reader but almost a waste of time for people who have read something published by Null in the past.

Actually, sort of surprised 11 Oct 2006

I haven't been impressed with Gary's books as of late. I completely agree with a couple of the reviewers who claim Gary's books are just recycled material, over and over again. I couldn't agree more.... until this book.

I have to say, I got A LOT out of this book, that I hadn't in some of his other books. There are plenty of new ideas presented in this book, and I also like the format of this book. His writing style is much more fluent in this book than in books of the past. Also, his message is as clear as ever. In addition, this is one of the first books that I've read of Gary's, where he recommends eating fish. I believe in early 2000 or so, is when he started promoting fish, after 20+ years of promoting a vegan diet. But I hadn't seen it in print until this book.

All in all, I think this is Gary's best book yet. I'm still kind of surprised with some of the reviews on here. Maybe they didn't actually read the book; it was more of a skim through.

Nothing New 10 Mar 2007
By Chan Joon Yee - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Unlike books by some anti-aging practitioners who seem to publish in order to advertise their HRT programs, Gary Null's agenda is not so obvious. He claims that his book is different from the rest, but that's only because he has included a bit more information on environmental factors and their effects on aging at the beginning. Hence, he recommendations safe and organic food sources.

Apart from that, I see nothing new. The same old glossary of supplements, the same old recipes that no one has time to prepare and recommendations on exercise which only show that the author is far from an expert in this area.

However, I'm surprised that the author actually gave "natural" alternatives to hormone replacement. I'm not sure if the supplements really work, but at least he's not pushing HRT and making light of potential side effects even in expert hands.

Not a fantastic book but still quite informative for those who haven't already read a hundred books on anti-aging.
