Hello, UK. I'm Garrett Cook, American Bizarro, Neopulp and horror author. I'm however many years old a person born in mid-July of 1982 would be right now. I was born in the small town of Wenham, Massachusetts and grew up surrounded by a strange combination of banality and black magic, of yuppie propriety and frightful ghosts. From a young age I've had an interest in the weird and the horrific, fueled on by Saturday afternoon monster movies, mythology books, gaming and the region that inspired Lovecraft and Hawthorne. In fact, Wenham is probably not far from where Lovecraft's town of Innsmouth would be if it were not fictional. In 2008, I made the accquaintance of Jeremy Needle of Evil Nerd Empire, who decided that my Murderland series was a horse worth backing. Personally, I think he was right and am glad the books are picking up steam. Later that year, I attended Bizarrocon '08 and won the first annual Bizarro Showdown with a story about a man made out of bricks, a robot gangsta librarian, lewd acts involving ducks and Mecha Charles Dickens Times Two, who I believe to be the most frightful monster of all time. In 2009, my story "Mr.Plush, Detective" was published in The Magazine of Bizarro Fiction. In it I created a world of teddy bear detectives, Furry prostitutes, Dick Tracy style gangsters and deviant sexuality that I'm proud to say I am revisiting in my upcoming book, Jimmy Plush, Teddy Bear Detective. Later that year, Legumeman Books of Australia published my book, Archelon Ranch, a metafictional journey toward creative salvation or damnation featuring zombies AND dinosaurs. I hope you enjoy my work, UK and don't be a stranger. I'm on both Myspace and Facebook.
