Quick and Simple-to-use

The Garmin Forerunner 110 is an easy-to-use GPS sportswatch that measures your time, pace, distance and tracks your calories burned. There is virtually no setup required, so it is ideal for runners who simply want to step outside, acquire satellites and start their workout. Once satellite signals are found, press start and walk or run with Forerunner 110 – it will automatically start logging your workout.

Easy to use

Forerunner 110's data-friendly display makes it simple to read on the run with the all-important time, distance and average pace always there when you need it. An estimate of calories burned is also provided.

Forerunner 110 is automatically set up to show your current mile pace and will capture and display the split time for every mile you run. Alternatively, you can adjust this to kilometres if you prefer, or even change the distance to get more frequent splits.

Review, Relive and Replay

Whether you’re training to complete your first 5k or you want to get faster and fitter, accurate workout data is the key. As well as storing all the information about your walk or run in the watch itself, you can also view it online. .

Tracking your data is simple with Garmin Connect. Visit the Garmin website for free data analysis and sharing. Just upload to Garmin Connect from your PC or Mac, then see the route you travelled on a map, view a summary of your work-out data, create goals, monitor your progress and more.

This makes it easy to go back and see how you did last week or last month and hopefully see your progress.

Follow Your Heart

Forerunner 110 comes bundled with a heart rate monitor to track and display your heart rate in beats per minute so you can see how hard you’re working.

Fast and Accurate

Forerunner 110 features HotFix satellite prediction, which means it locks onto satellites quickly so you can be out the door and on your run in no time. It also has a high-sensitivity GPS receiver to stay locked onto satellites, even near tall buildings or under tree cover.

Forerunner 110 can be worn as a watch even when you’re not working out. The battery lasts up to eight hours in training mode and two weeks in power-save mode and is easily rechargeable through a plug-in docking system.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great training aid 16 May 2010
    Style Name:HRM|Size Name:Women
The Garmin Forerunner 110 is a great training aid for your outdoor runs. It doesn't have custom screens so you can just see distance, time and average pace and you can scroll through to see heart rate as well. It doesn't have the feature to set interval targets or heart rate zones, or pace alarms, but let's be honest - unless you are training for the next olympics, do you really need all that!

You can upload all the data to Garmin Connect and you can see a map of your run through the Google maps interface and you can look at your heart rate and pace along the length of your run. You can set an autolap so that the Forerunner records data every mile, for instance and for most runners this is surely enough.

It's really easy to use and perfect for anyone who wants an automatic record of their runs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Review of Garmin 110 GPS watch 1 Nov 2010
    By Noel
    Style Name:Non HRM|Size Name:Unisex
    I've given this five stars.

I had tried on some of the 105, 205, 310, and 405 watches and I was generally unhappy with the size / comfort of them. Especially the 405 range - they're really uncomfortable for someone with small wrists, as even though you'll be able to adjust the strap to fit you okay - the back facing on the 405s don't fit snug against the forearm part of your wrist (again that's just for people with small wrists.)

The 110 fits very comforably. I went for the version without heartrate as I don't have a requirement for heartrate. I think the watch looks plain but nice. You could get away with wearing this as a normal watch. It also looks nice when the blue backlight is operated.

Functionality. This is the ideal watch for me. I haven't connected it to a pc yet as I was I'm only just back from injury and haven't had much time to check out pc features yet. I deliberately went for the simpler option of the 110 gps as I don't want to get too caught up in after training analysis (Analysis is Paralysis!)

The watch comes with a small user manual that's very easy to read and understand so I'd advise any purchaser to read that.

In the set up you can select your 110 gps watch to measure your PACE or your SPEED. You can amend your set up at any stage in the future so don't be afraid to experiment. I have mine set up to measure my PACE. You're also asked to set the units at miles or km. And you're also asked to set lap distances. I have my watch on Miles, and I set my lap distance to 0.25 Mile. You can turn the alarm beep on / off (it beeps every lap unless you turn the beep off.)

My watch takes about 1 minute approximately to locate the satelites at which point you can press the start button to begin your run.

5.0 out of 5 stars fab, really good motivator 16 April 2011
    Style Name:HRM| Size Name:Women|Verified Purchase
Being a non runner (read no exercise what so ever) and training for a Marathon I needed/wanted some sort of motivation to help me. I had no idea where to start with GPS style watches or even what I was looking for. I LOVE this watch, it lets me see at a glance if I need to slow down (as if) or speed up. It is very easy to use, I am techno twit and managed to load the software and down load my runs yes runs. The garmin connect software is fab, you can set goals such as burn X calories or run X miles.
This watch is very comfy to wear. I opted for the one with the heart rate monitor and if I am honest save your self some pennies and don't bother with this 'extra' unless you want to see how fast your heart was going at certain stages of the run. It is useful but I wouldn't wear it on every run.

I have very small wrists and despite this being smaller and desiged for woman I still found it bulky and wouldn't wear it as any everyday watch.

I really wish I had bought this at the beginning of my training as it has been a huge help/motivator.

    Highly recommend

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent GPS starter 21 Dec 2011
    Style Name:Non HRM|Size Name:Unisex
I've had my Garmin Forerunner 110 for approx. 4 months now and am very happy with it.

The display shows the 3 most important data items during a run: distance, elapsed time and current lap pace. All are easy to read, and the backlight (activated by a button) stays on long enough to be able to read the information in the dark.

The buttons are large enough to be able to be used with gloves on (can you tell I'm writing this review in December?), and the additional sound feedback means you don't have to take your eyes off the road/path for too long.

Battery life is great. Obviously, the battery gets charged every time you connect the watch to your computer for uploading your run data. However, I only leave the unit connected for the duration of the upload and disconnect it immediately afterwards. I leave the watch switched on at all times but GPS turns itself off automatically after a couple of minutes if you're not in timer mode; this extends battery life considerably. My average weekly exercise pattern with GPS on is 25 mins of cycling 4-5 days a week plus 3 runs of 30-60 mins each per week, and I find I only have to fully re-charge the watch every 7-10 days.

The watch feels very light on the wrist, and its small size compared to some of the other GPS units out there means that it's great to wear as an everyday watch as well.

Serious runners (well, more serious then myself, anyway) will probably be looking at watches that offer more advanced functions such as support for interval training, training plans, etc. which the Forerunner 110 does not have. Having said that, the Forerunner 110 is the ideal watch for those who are just starting out or who are looking to move up from a simple stop watch or the Nike+ system. In fact, if you are reading this in order to help you decide between Nike+ and the Forerunner 110, I'd recommend you spend the extra; it is more than worth it for the convenience and accuracy of a GPS-enabled watch.

4.0 out of 5 stars I like it
    Nice and simple.

Can take a while to find satellites, but you can get around this by leaving it by a window for a few minutes ahead of going out.
