5.0 out of 5 stars Works a treat 16 Dec 2009
Very happy with this accessory. I bought it to use with my Garmin Oregon 400t Handheld GPS with European Maps. It's a nice, simple design that's very compact for storing in luggage when travelling (the cradle snaps out of the suction pad to disassemble and make it nice and compact). The cable is straight rather than wound, making it much easier to route between the 12 volt socket and the GPS unit in the car.

Top accessories for my Garmin Oregon 400t, now I can use it for longer journeys via the cigarette attachment and view the unit on my dashboard where I can see it better.

4.0 out of 5 stars Functional, but strange cable 21 Jan 2009
By John Bengtson - Published on Amazon.com
Works as expected, but the strange orientation of the micro USB cable (should be straight down out of the Oregon, or toward the back, NOT toward the front) is puzzling.

4.0 out of 5 stars Does the job, but awkward to set up 22 Nov 2008

This "autonavkit" -- what marketer thought that up? -- does a great job of holding the GPSr in place while driving. There is a lot of room for adjustment once it's mounted, and it stays put even on rough roads. The downside is that it is awkward to attach the GPSr to the bracket: you have to slide the unit in from one side by feel, then rotate it 180 degrees to attach the cable, then position it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well built & sturdy - definately worth it. 2 Oct 2010

I'm using this product with a GPSmap 62s and I think my comments would apply to any of the GPSmap series. Based on the other comments, this kit works with many of Garmin's products, and some of those comments don't apply to the 62s. Specifically the comment about the GPS being awkward to mount/dismount does not apply to the 62s. It's a well-designed system and very easy and natural to mount/dismount from the bracket once you understand how the retention feature works (which is intuitively obvious upon inspection). I do agree with the comments about the mount being easy to snap off the ball on the bracket, but that only happened to me during my first time set-up when I was orienting the mount on the bracket and twisting and turning quite a bit.
Over all, this is a well-built and easy to use product. The only trouble I had was the first time I tried to plug the power cable into my new GPSmap 62s, it was a little tight to get in, but after that first time it was fine. It's a very secure connection. As a professional mechanical engineer, I have no regrets about my purchase.

1.0 out of 5 stars Garmin Auto kit 11 Dec 2011

I love my Garmin Oregon GPS. I hate the vehicle mounting kit. The one I purchased through Amazon lasted 4 weeks and broke where the yoke articulates at the base. Same failure mode as the one that I originally purchased fom Garmin, although that one lasted 2 years. This mount would work if you never removed the GOS from the mount. If you Geocache or travel extensively and have to remove your GPS from the mount frequently it will not last. I do not know of any alternative, however.

4.0 out of 5 stars Best It Can Be 6 Aug 2009

Shipped & Arrived on Time.

The Quality I have found to be very good with no problems at all.

The only qualm I have is due to the GPS design, it will cause the cord to be ejected forward rather than shot out behind. However, if you just tuck the cord back behind the gps it will be out of the way and not get caught on your steering wheel or hands.

I would definately reccomend this for anyone with a Oregon 400T as it is the best on the market for this version.
