PhotoReal™ junction view adds accurate landscape detail and road signs for upcoming exits and junctions for exceptional clarity of detail down to the exact trees and pylons! nüRoute myTrends learns your driving habits and recognises your favourite destinations to predict where you're going based on the time of day and your location. This advanced routing capability saves you time otherwise spent manually activating a route on a repeat journey and helps refine your route planning based on previous travel experiences and past route conditions.
The integrated unique Cyclops™ safety camera warning system brings real-time, direction-relevant and accurate alerts with overspeed warning as you approach one of hundreds of fixed, mobile, variable limit and temporary safety cameras. nüvi 2310 also enables you to correct and update road speeds and share your changes with other users via USB update.
Multi-route preview shows available routes on the map for visual comparison before you select your preferred journey and the ecoRoute™ fuel-saver feature helps you save money and fuel and reduce your carbon footprint with the option to follow the ‘less fuel’ route to your destination. ecoRoute also helps you to develop more efficient driving habits, calculates trip cost and enables accurate expense reporting.
Experience complete door-to-door navigation with nüvi 2310’s pedestrian navigation capabilities. Purchase optional cityXplorer mapping for enhanced pedestrian navigation with directions for walking in places you wouldn’t be able to access in your car, such as footpaths and subways. It also tells you where to catch trains, buses and tubes (dependent on the city) and how long it will take you to reach your destination. cityXplorer even contains public transport timetables to ensure you arrive at the station on time and avoid delays and long waits (dependent on the city). When continuing the journey on foot, nüvi 2310 uses Park Position Recall to automatically mark and help you navigate back to the place you park – ideal when leaving your vehicle on an unfamiliar road or busy retail complex.
The Where am I? emergency locator is vey helpful if you break down or need a local service urgently. Simply tap the car icon on the map screen to view your exact coordinates, nearest address and junction, with contact details for vehicle recovery services and directions to hospitals, police and petrol stations nearby.

I used this for the first time just a day after recieving the unit to navigate to LHR terminal 5 not having flown from this terminal before. I found the unit to be easy to update, easy to use and accurate; especially the speed warnings which pinged every time I came close to limit signs/cameras. The real view junction feature is superb, clear and effective, a real bonus on the way out of T5 to the M4! As luck would have it the M4 was closed for a large section of my route to T5 (even at 5am!) this meant an extensive diversion which the Nuvi 2310 managed without fuss and was quick to re-route. A great buy which I'd happily reccomend to anyone.

This is an amazing device.It is very easy to set up and use.The graphics are excellent and the female voice tells you very clearly what to do and where to go in plenty of time.It warns of speed limits and speed cameras. It-quite literally takes you from "door to door".
One bad point is not about the machine but about Garmin itself.I sent an email via their own official website contact point requesting advice re download or purchase of Canadian mapping but have had no reply.Not good for Garmin but the 2310 is an excellent buy...

I already have an older Road Angel sat nav so the primary reason for updating to a newer one was the bluetooth connectivity giving me hands free calling in a car that didn't have hands free. As another reveiwer described, as soon as it was connected to my phone it kept crashing. I sent the first unit back and full marks to Amazon on their returns process (that's the fist time I've had to use it) they even upgraded the postage without being asked to ensure the replacement arrived asap.
When I connected the second one in and got exactly the same result, I then decided to go onto Garmin support to see if they could help. On the support pages I found a link to Web Updater a program that allows you to check for newer software for your sat nav, when I looked at the detail I found that there was a fix for the constant crashing. Once downloaded and updated I found that the unit worked without switching off, great.
Now my point here is that this unit is described as a sat nav with bluetooth connectivity yet as experienced there was a major glitch in the software causing it to fail. Had I known this when I bought it I could have immediately updated the software and avoided dissapointment with this product. Get your act together Garmin and warn your customers about this and make it easier to find the fix.

Does the job
