Text to speech speaks upcoming street names as you approach for extra route awareness so you can keep your eyes on the road, not on the sat nav.
Lane Assist with junction view shows the correct lane choice for upcoming junctions and motorway exits with accurate road signs for confidence driving on unfamiliar roads - no need for hesitation, panic or last-minute lane changes. nüRoute™ myTrends™ learns your driving habits and recognises your favourite destinations to predict where you're going based on the time of day and your location. This advanced routing saves you time otherwise spent manually activating a route on a repeat journey and refines your route planning based on previous travel experiences and past route conditions.
The integrated, unique Cyclops™ safety camera warning system gives real-time, direction-relevant and accurate alerts with overspeed warning as you approach one of hundreds of fixed, mobile, variable limit and temporary safety cameras. nüvi 2200 also enables you to correct and update road speeds and share your changes with other users via USB.
Multi-route preview shows your available routes on the map for visual comparison before selecting your preferred journey and the ecoRoute™ fuel-saver feature helps you save money and fuel and reduce your carbon footprint with the option to follow the ‘less fuel’ route to your destination. ecoRoute also helps you to develop more efficient driving habits, calculates trip cost and enables accurate expense reporting.
Experience complete door-to-door navigation with nüvi 2200s pedestrian navigation capabilities. Purchase optional cityXplorer mapping for directions including places you wouldn't be accessing in your car - including footpaths and shortcuts through parks. It also tells you where to catch trains, buses and tubes (dependent on the city) and how long it will take you to reach your destination. cityXplorer even contains public transport timetables to ensure you arrive at the station on time and avoid delays and long waits (dependent on the city). When continuing the journey on foot, nüvi 2200 uses Park Position Recall to automatically mark and help you navigate back to the place you park – ideal when leaving your vehicle on an unfamiliar road or busy retail complex.
The Where am I? emergency locator is a useful safety feature if you break down or need a local service urgently. Simply tap the car icon on the map screen to view your exact coordinates, nearest address and junction, the contact details for local vehicle recovery services and directions to hospitals, police and petrol stations nearby.

Very good, exception is that is describes turning left/right into this or that street by name rather than next left/right, also it describes road numbers in their full numbers e.g. A617 as 'A six hundred and seventeen' A6610 as 'A six thousand six hundred and ten', and so on, can be a bit confusing. Like the sound alerts when entering speed camera/traffic light camera zones.
As I am becoming more used to it the more I like it.

Model:nüvi 2200 - UK and Ireland
This is a perfectly decent Satnav, and we're enjoying using it. However, the Amazon description on this page says that it includes Lane Assist and Junction View, which the 2200 does not. We only found this out after we had received it and used it. We chose to pay a bit more for this model because we thought we were getting these features. So now I'm not sure what we paid the extra for, given that we could have got a 1200 for less which has a similar spec. I agree with the previous comment that it is weird that it reads out the road numbers as a whole number rather than a series of number (e.g. A one-thousand-two-hundred-and-eighty-seven instead of A one, two, eight, seven), but we'll get used to it. Overall, fine, but we're a bit annoyed the description is wrong on this page. I'm sure Amazon would refund/replace with no questions, but it's too much hassle to send it back, and we've used it a quite a bit now.

I love this product! Although I have used a sat nav in the past (borrowed from a friend) I have not experienced anything as straightforward as this one. The route is really clearly marked and the "voice" is pleasant - unlike so many other voiced products I own! As many other reviewers have commented (I read the reviews before purchasing!)the street name function is brilliant - you have an instant check that you have taken the correct turning. I hope it will live up to my "excellent" score and my expectations when I take it to Ireland next month!
Only one criticism: when I missed a turning or failed to follow an instruction and "recalculating" took over I found myself in cul de sacs and all sorts! Probably my own fault for not following the instuctions in the first place!
