Bought primarily for sailing since my previous chartplotter obsolete. Used for sailing last week found to be very good chart image and good reception below deck. I have also used it for walking with route input and found it equally useful with a larger screen than my Vista HcX. The camera works well and the ability to store the photo location is a useful feature. I have yet to use it in the car but look forward to this

I have had mine for around 3 Months and take it for regular weekend rides on my bicycle, it has been used every week since purchase. I bought it for my car, geocache searching but mostly bicycle use. I have the car bracket and the bicycle and both are nice and solid to mount and use. They actually feel better than most bike brackets with a sturdy screw thread attachment and rubber seals. I have completed technical off-road and rooty drops on the MTB with the bracket holding the Garmin 650 in place.

It has almost too many options to use, for example I am unlikely to ever use the "Man over board" function or any of the boating related items. However I have been able to neatly customised the screens to show the information I want in one place. This is really good for cycling because I can define Heart Rate, Cadence, Speed, Trip Odo, Distance to Destination and a mini map on one page. These can be moved around and made larger or smaller depending on your preference.

Note that you don't really get proper maps with the base model. I am in the UK and had to download a basic street map which was in the region of £25 from the Garmin site and I really also need to invest in the European overview maps which are on an SD card which is more expensive. I will certainly be buying one in the next few months to add more detail and enable the 3D view which gives you a live elevation screen - sadly this does not work unless you have the extra maps.

For the cyclist it does connect to the heart rate and cadence sensor. I also have the temperature sensor which was a bit of an indulgence but completed the ANT sensor connections. I have not had any issues with sensor connection which works fine, even at some distance through a wall in the house.
