There's been a lot of confusion over this product (see earlier reviews). I followed it over a couple of weeks and I think the supplier has now changed the product itself from being the full mount to just what you see - the suction cup and arm with ball joint. I can confirm that what you get now is identical to the picture - and, in fact, to the manufacturer's original. Like other reviewers, the problem I had was that the hinge broke between the cup section and the flexible arm. My advice is: when adjusting the satnav, be gentle/hold the arm when adjusting the ball joint (it does look like a design fault, though!).

When my original adjustable suction cup section broke - irreparably - I found it interesting that this section of the device was widely available as a spare part.
The reason that it is sold separately is that it is of poor design, unfit to withstand the loads that normal (real-life) loads impose on it.
If I was still teaching engineering students I would have used the device as an example of how not to do a number of things in the design and test process.
However, the service from the supplier was very quick and I am grateful that it was available.

This is one of those products that either does exactly what you want and scores 5 stars; or it doesn't and scores zero. Having broken the original and been into the usual high street shops to buy a replacemnt 'stalk' without the unit mount, told it wasn't available as a stand alone product and that I would have to buy both peices together for £15-18, I was delighted to find this available via Amazon for a little over £5 + postage.

arrived in good condition and quickly, it wasn't the exact same as the one i received with the satnav, but works just as well, although the hinge was rather tight so it was hard to move it to get it into the right position.

Suction cup worked perfectly for 18months so happy for the price I paid really. I bought it to replace the original one which the rubber seal detached and would not suck to the windscreen anymore. This one has done exactly the same but as I say worked well for a while. I have purchased another one as I need it to view the sat nav but someone should come up with a better design. This style is obviously flawed and breaks too easily.

Just the job
The old unit was wriped off by the erk doing my MoT without releaseing the prssure first ruining the rubber cup. Far cheaper and quicker than going to Garmin direct
