No. LT gives you lifetime traffic but not maps. LTM models have lifetime maps.

I have the Nuvii 3598LMTD and that has the option that allows you to avoid certain routes and terrain. Can't really answer your question directly about the 2408LTD, other than to say that it is entirely wrong for Amazon to lump ALL Garmin SatNav versions together. It is misleading and leads to confusion about various models. However, I can tell you that the 3598 is absolute rubbish as a UK satnav and useless as a device to guide you from A to B. The routing engine is more appropriate for the USA, not the UK. and there are very few options to enhance the driving experience when used in the UK. It's a beautifully well made tactile unit, Made in Taiwan, and appears to be reliable, although some owners have experienced grey screens during operation. Speech Command is not available for English even with Western Europe maps, only working with Full Europe maps, and Garmin Express is almost totally useless even at the latest version. On the plus side the 3598 does have a good traffic reporting option, but even here many of the road traffic reports are unreliable. Sorry!

Hi Paul, the unit is supposed to, but to be honest, I think mine is faulty. It isn't even seeing the traffic and is finding road works where there are none. Have had 4 emails so far from Garmin, all asking me to keep troubleshooting. I am bitterly disappointed in the unit. Also the blue tooth phone connection does not work.
