A super little satnav!!
Having been bitten before by buying a Garmin 3790 (which did everything perfectly except telling you where you were), it was with trepidation that I ordered this. Also my car has a metallised windscreen, and I wasn't sure if it would pick up the signals.
Well I am pleased to report that it does. In fact, the receiver is so sensitive that it actually picked up enough satellites to give a rough location, while I was having a coffee inside John Lewis - impressive.
From turn on, it takes about 30 secs or less to boot up and find out where you are.
The screen is bright and clear.
The multilevel menus can be a bit of a trial, but keeping the 'back' button pressed returns you back to the main screen.
I've not used it that much yet, but the routing it has done has been reasonable.
Rerouting time will vary I guess, depending on the route, and on my journeys it took 5 seconds or less.
Driving from Swindon to Oxford I got a Traffic Alert, but not until it was too late to detour.
Another Traffic Alert said "severe congestion ahead - rerouting", but it couldn't find an alternative rout, and the traffic wasn't that severe anyway. For me this feature seems to be a bit like a weather forecast, 'It's raining but I can't do anything about it'!
Speed limits were surprisingly accurate, with the garmin indicating the new speed limit within three second of passing the sign. Speed limits can also be corrected manually.
The voice activation worked, but predictably it was by no means perfect. For best results you need a nice quiet car. Still, a very useful feature, especially for phoning using the bluetooth connection, which worked well.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Sat Nav worth its weight in gold! 21 Sep 2012
Soooooooooo easy to use, really fast when you need an alternate route. I agree the voice is amusing when it pronounces some of the words, thats probably the only thing that need improving.Large clear screen and maps.
We travel between Europe and north America so this Sat Nav is ideal, the only one on the market that I have found giving this option.

5.0 out of 5 stars Road test 13 Oct 2012

Overall very satisfied. Just completed a 1500 road trip rond California and had no problems. Simple to use although sometimes a little slow to pick up signal when first turned on or setting a new trip (although that may have been a location problem). Would recommend playing with the functionality before heading off for a holiday. I learned a lot about what the sat nav could do by just pressing different icons on the screen whilst we were travelling. If I'd taken more time doing tis beforehand I would probably have benefited more when we first started out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent 20 Sep 2012

This is a superb product covering Europe and the USA. It is fast, accurate and easy to use with a seemingly encyclopaedic knowledge of the local area, wherever it may be. Having a voice command facility is useful, but it occasionally does not hear because of ambient noise. The synthesised voice mispronounces road names frequently and amusingly. Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good little sat Nav 14 Oct 2012
By Deano
Voice control worked surprisingly well despite my thick accent but the touchscreen works just as well for entering destinations. It's quick to rework directions if you miss a turn but luckily that doesn't happen often as the instructions are clear and easy to hear.
