Not fit for purpose! Had mine for just over a year and it has stopped working, on investigation the internals were totally water logged. The item was fitted behind the fairing of my bike out of the worst of the weather, so there is no excuse for this poor reliability. The worst thing of all is that I now have to buy another one knowing that it will fail again in the near future. If some thing is advertised as 'water proof' it should be water proof, a very poor product!

Not wanting to do Amazon out of money (I did buy my Garmin Zumo 550 from Amazon) but Garmin after sales service have been quite helpful. They are aware that the mounts can be faulty and have offered to send me a functioning mount if I send in my broken one. I spoke to Garmin UK phone support: 0808 2380000 (Garmin Europe) and selected option 1
I told them that I'd bought a Garmin Zumo 550 and that the mount was defective (no longer charging the unit)
They gave me a reference number and told me to put the defective mount in a jiffy bag and send to:

Liberty House
Hounsdown Business Park
Northampton
SO40 9LR
Hope that'll save a few motorcyclists some money.

I told them that I'd bought a Garmin Zumo 550 and that the mount was defective (no longer charging the unit)
They gave me a reference number and told me to put the defective mount in a jiffy bag and send to:

Item itself came in perfect, brand new condition. But why it was broken in the first place? pins on my original bracket fall out. So had to get this new thing.
May be i am unlucky and my original bracket was faulty, but it broke and stopped charging my ZUMO only after 14 month of gentle use. All the pins at the bottom of the bracket that make contact to charge the ZUMO are as ne, but 4 pins that are on the left have come loose and fallen out.
Bracket is easy to install, but have to give it 2 star for not being reliable in the first place.
Like Lee Evans said -"it is dust proof, water proof, bullet proof. Would you like an extended warranty with that?"

Fits to the bars without trouble, never had a moments trouble after many miles in all weather even with the intercom connected.
