This may not cost much. But with a little thought to the set-up, works well. Great if you have Tomatoes in a South facing green house (like me) that dry out every other hour in sunny weather!
- First off, wrap plumbers tape around the thread on the drippa's (wind round at least 6 times). This allows for easy adjustment. Or otherwise the adjustment is to coarse and they can leak.
- I've used two kits, each kit feeds three plants. As it can get difficult to adjust the drippa's if you use more (kit contains 6) and the water obviously gets used up faster.
- I also fitted a small tap / valve in-line in the pipe by the water container. Allows you to switch them off at night etc. if you wish.
- Rather than stick the drippa's into the ground / soil. I got some stiff plastic coated wire and wrapped a piece round each drippa to make a little tripod. You can then use this to hold the drippa just above the soil level. Much easier if you can see the actual water coming out, makes adjustment much simpler.
- And finally, as the instructions say... don't suspend the bag holding the water much higher the the drippa's, as the system works best if the water pressure is kept low.
Like a lot of things in life. A little effort to set up, but once done, works well.
A God send if we are going to have a dry / sunny summer this year.
