Jim Davis has yet again excelled himself with another instalment of the ever popular Garfield.
In "With love,from me,to you" are shown the adventures of a weak willed man called Jon,and his wryly obnoxious yet strangely lovable cat Garfield.He describes himself as "big boned",yet clearly is a little "horizontally privileged" and Garfields "sidekick" Odie.The dog with too few brain cells.
In this edition of the cult Garfield series you are transported into a world of crazy capers and hilarious 3 frame comic strips.Some of the main story lines in "With love,from me,to you" are: Garfield being forced to go camping-this being Garfields least favorite activity.To quote:"which would you rather do Garfield,go to the farm or go camping"asks Jon,Garfield retorts"would having somthing amputated be a choice?".Jon's evening pottery class where he finds the most unusual date.The main event of the book itself is a Garfield family christmas.
This combination of excellent cartoons and good family humour make this a must buy for all ages.I myself started reading the Garfield series aged 7,I am now 14 and it still makes me laugh. My dad enjoys it also and he's in his 40's!
Even if you have never read Garfield before this edition is as good a place as any to start. Although I would recommend reading some of the earlier editions just for the great humour in them.Especially such titles as "Life in the Fast Lane"and "Here We Go Again".

Even though Garfield has been around over 20 years, the lovable, lazy, lasagna loving cat is still as funny as ever. Although none of the garfield books have a plot, or even anything to do with it's title, the Garfield books still keep you gripped from the first page onwards, and Light of my Life is no exception. In this, even Garfield's date seeking owner has his extremely funny moments. If you love the strips involving Garfield and the scales, this book is the one to get, as it contains many many strips involving the cheeky talking scales. Also, Light of my life contains many of Garfield's hilarious attempts to catch birds, and many of the backlashes of the spiders. When reading this, one wonders what age group Garfield is aimed at.I think anyone can find themselves rolling about about laughing, whether they are five to one hundred and five. Garfield may seem like a light read book that won't last you long, but the quality of this book means that even though it takes you an hour to read, you can read it again and again, and it will still be funny, and the jokes still feel fresh!! I have read Light of my Life about 6 times, and have found it great everytime. All in all, no matter who you are, you should buy this book, as it will bring you years of enjoyable reading, and it will be well worth the money, and more!! Long live Garfield!!

This book includes two of the funniest lines ever spoken in the Garfield pocket book series; "You shaved my bunny slippers!" and "I'm measuring Odie to make sure I use just the right amount of concrete." It also includes five or six of what I consider to be the best, most cynical Jim Davis strips I have read so far, which easily makes up for the one or two that fail to inspire a laugh.
