Reviews

Choirmaster Gareth Malone sets himself a challenge to create a new opera, incorporating a children's chorus, to be performed at Glyndebourne in 2010. Not only will Gareth be responsible for all areas of the production, from casting to set design, he also has to ensure the children are up to the required standard for the opening night.

Gareth 'probably the most patient and positive man to have ever worked with the British public' Malone ups the stakes by taking on the Opera genre and the youth of society. Its predictable turning-lives-around stuff, but compelling stuff nonetheless.

I saw Gareth Malone on BBC America and loved his show, The Choir. I have been trying to find DVD's of everything (and anything) he does. Loved this one. The service was the best; I received my DVD weeks earlier than I expected. I heartily recommend this site to everyone. The only issue I had was that it didn't work in my TV DVR - I had to watch it on the computer and that is less fun. But at least I found something and was thrilled when it arrived.

Wow - dont know why I didnt watch this when it was on TV. What an great thing to do and how hard everyone worked to make this happen. Certainly gave me a taste of opera and of wanting to go to Glyndebourne. Never would have considered opera until I watched this.
