4.0 out of 5 stars Not without its problems but worth the effort 25 Jun 2011
By Rod H
Essentially a good product that looks well in the garden. However, there were two issues with the the 'copy' I received. Firstly, one of the uprights was severely bowed. Screwing the pieces together did pull everything into place though not without a struggle getting the fastenings to hold firm. Secondly, two pieces had broken off one of the curved members and these had to be pinned and glued back in position - but at least the pieces were in the box. As an aside, I used ground spikes to install the arch. Getting the spikes into the ground 'square' in three dimensions turned out not to be quite as straightforward as I expected. I ended up making a template.

2.0 out of 5 stars Garden arch - decorative 29 Aug 2010
Verified Purchase
I was a little disappointed with the arch when it arrived. It was of a fairly fragile construction and will only support light climbers. It is more of a decorative item than a practical plant support.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very, very poor 4 Jun 2012

This looks good but it absolutely feeble. The wood is simply not good enough - as we gently lifted it up into position the metal fixings fell out and the wood split along its joins (made from pieces of wood glued together). Dont waste your money on this Gardman product

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money 23 Mar 2012
By eskir
I bought five of these arches and the metal ground pins to match in order to make an arched way. The wood is very poor quality and splits very easily indeed whilst the preserving paint is merely surpeficial. They torque in the wind and have to be stabilized in all kinds of rather ugly ways. The trellis also easily falls apart. The design in very pleasing but the quality is very poor indeed and I feel that I have spent a lot of money and effort for a very disappointing result. I have not even bothered to try to build the last two.

3.0 out of 5 stars elegance wooden arch 25 Aug 2011
By gcgrave
The wood used in this product was not of a very high standard. Where prepared holes were made to accommodate screws, some were split and therefore did not hold the screw when inserted, thereby needing additional screws to hold the frame together. A replacement part was needed and was in fact better than the original.
Delivery time was very good.
Overall the arch was a lot weaker than expected, time will tell how it stands up to use and weather.

The wood was split which got worse as I went on and it looked like someone had already tried glueing it
