Though various books exist that are useful for suggesting cunning layouts to make the most of your space, this is one of the few that also (and principally) provides genuine inspiration by showcasing the best that current visionaries in garden design have to offer. The designers' skill is in creating gardens that have their own maturity and timelessness without belonging to any particular style. Every garden is unique, and in a good way. This authenticity means that most designs will appeal to modernists and traditionalists alike. By comparison, books by Tim Newbury and others, valuable though they are for tips on geometry, appear positively pedestrian, while those by TV-style gardener designers seem either faddish or frumpy.
