Inside the bucket there is a 3.5 litre plastic inner liner with a stainless steel handle so there is no need to get your hands dirty whilst emptying into your composter. Kitchen Compost Bucket Clay but any colour appropriate comment rusted out within 6 months

Item bought Dec 2010.
I had originally rated and published this as 5 star item, see later note. This is better built than my old bucket, which cost £12.99, had no liner and rusted through the lid and the base after 12 months. This has a plastic liner bucket and a sealed lid that is lined and stops the nasty niffs. One slightly irritating drawback - as its a bigger bin the handle would be very much improved by being sturdier in its fixing to on the inner bucket, if the bucket is full - which is the general idea - the handle can and does detach from the plastic inner bucket, picture - you have handle in hand, compost bucket on floor along with compost materiel and smelly splashes on clothes. Have tweaked the handle and it seems more secure it had better be.. Item stamped Garden Trading on base. later note. After 6 months this item is rusted on lid and at base of bucket, vacuum seal has come adrift, bucket handle has corroded and still comes adrift, going off to Harwdware store to get robust compost bucket that I can evaluate and test for robustness. This item very disappointing, not worth the money and now just holds chicken grit in the shed. . Not only reviewer to find this product expensive and short lived if bought late 2010 early 2011 and applies to many of the colours if you look at reviews. Shame as its a looker.

Compost bin looks good when it arrives but handle quickly falls off and rubber seal too. Chips easily and keeps its looks for a very short time. Not a quality item.

Whilst I have only just received this item I cannot comment on the quality, it looks very good and is the sort of thing I'd hoped it would be. Only thing is the colour. I notice now on the product description it says "soft clay colour" (which I should have read more carefully) but the colour in the photo is clearly not clay, but pale cream. That is what led me to order it. This is confusing and has caused me some irritation. That being said I quite like the clay colour after all so think I shall keep it.
