5.0 out of 5 stars All is not lost...., 27 Aug 2000

This review is from: A Garden Lost In Time: Mystery of the Ancient Gardens of Aberglasney (Hardcover)
This work is of monumental significance in shaping our perception that reclaiming our heritage is not limited to sterile buildings but living things as well.

While world attention is rightfully focused on preserving intact the rain forest, this work demonstrates that we need to reclaim those centuries old living islands that have somehow persevered and relay to us today, the vivacious aspirations of their creators.

This is not just a book about a garden but about the people who made it and the people who rediscovered and rescued it.

I eagerly look forward to the author's next endeavor in this area. It is a rare individual who is able to pull together all the disparate disciplines such a work entails, and to present them in such a thoroughly enjoyable manner.

This book goes hand in hand with the "Lost Country Life" by Dorothy Hartley.
