4.0 out of 5 stars A B&W Odyssey, 6 Jan 2001
By A Customer
Professor Hunt is sometimes a hard academic read. Here, he takes the reader through 150 years of garden history (1600-1750), and puts in context the influence of Italian work in English landscape creations.

It is an extensive source. The annotations and quotations are profuse, with an index to match. The volume presents a potent essay by a distinguished scholar - an important overview of European culture. This is in an exclusive B&W format, and although priced slightly dearly, the offered knowledge is hard to beat!
