2.0 out of 5 stars Fun, but a very dishonest product description. 27 April 2009

This was ordered for my daughter's 2nd birthday, and while it is great fun for the kids, it certainly isn't made of "strong waterproof canvas" as the description says. It's actually made of thin, untreated linen, like bedsheets! What a con.

Also, the one we received has a totally different design from the one we ordered too. The motifs are spray-painted on, and the whole thing feels like something daddy could have knocked up with a bedsheet and a can of spray-paint and some garden canes. The kids are having fun playing with it anyway, but I have to say that Amazon & the manufacturer need to sort out this grossly misleading product description.

3.0 out of 5 stars Hmnnn. 24 Sep 2009
Verified Purchase
Durability: 1.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 3.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
I recieved this product as pictured. Water retardent painted canvas. Looks very nice when its up and my 3-4yr old loves it. However I was dissappointed with the quality of the split poles, these are substantial, but the dowel ends do not fit properly and I will have to recut them to make them fit with a saw. Thus I would not describe it as durable as it is a nightmare to put up, as the poles keep falling out because they dont fit properly. There is also a weak point in the canvas above the flap, that should have been reinforced to stop it tearing. I thought it was a lot of money for something that I have had to fix.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wigwam Bam 9 July 2009
Durability: 4.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 4.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
The wigwam is very well made, with sturdy support poles and what appears to be water repelant material. I would suggest that the supplier makes a greater point of this in their 'sales pitch'. The colours and patterns on the wigwam are fine, maybe more/different patterns could be added which would be in keeping with the origination of the wigwam? A ground sheet would be very usefull!! I have read some of the other reviews and find their description baffling, did they buy a cheaper version of the product?
The children have had a lot of fun with the wigwam and are very happy with it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Unacceptable Tat! 27 May 2009
Durability: 1.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 3.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
Ordered from Amazon (whom we wholly trusted!)

Did NOT receive the wigwam pictured, but a flimsy calico cotton one with spray-painted stencils on it that I could buy for 50p a metre!

The 6 3-sectioned wooden poles are so flimsy that they kept falling apart at the dowel-joined ends, one dowel even had a wood knot in it and fell off as we got it out of the box

Highly unacceptable, obviously no quality control there!!!!!

We are all having to tighten our belts at the moment & look after our money, but this is a joke!!! Especially for a childs toy - you should be ashamed of yourselves. We're not the only ones who had this cheap one delivered either.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect fun indoor and out 10 Jun 2010
Durability: 5.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 4.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
We have purchased this Wigwam for my daughter as she loves to set up tea parties in the garden with her friends and this product seemed perfect.

The Canvas outer is very thick and suitable for use outdoors in the summer; we have also moved the wigwam indoors for use in the less cheerful weather.

The tent is easy to build with simple wooden poles that connect with plastic connecters giving a taller tent but, small box to store when not in use. The poles are held together at the top by threading throw a tie string with spacer balls.

It so easy to build that you don't mind moving it around.

My wigwam is now 3 years old and still looks great and my daughter loves it.

I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone. It is brilliant.
