This book, like the exhibition for which it is a catalogue, is breathtaking, marvellous and a must-have. The colour reproductions are fine and, speaking as a specialist in Indian art, I found the descriptions well-balanced: of interest to academics and the non-expert reader alike.However, there is one massive flaw. Nowhere, but nowhere in the book is there a map to orientate the reader. I had to fish out my exhibition leaflet, which does have a map, and which I now keep inside the book.

I sought out this book after visiting the exhibition. The book is excellent, a must have and there isn't another book out there which is as comprehensive. The only thing i would change would be to have more enlargements as the work is so minute and precise.
