Long, who's books I have read before is at both his best and worst in this book. The story-line and various subplots have promise and to an extent do deliver, however it does tend to drift. Strong characters all round, but with many weak chapters that are glued together with a subdued yet still worthy concept. The use of the internet references is understandable dated, however, it is worth a read for the more escapist individual who likes the notion that the world is run by a select few.
